Have been incredibly busy of late so haven't had much time to post.
First things first, I'm pregnant! I'm due at the end of March 2010 and hoping that everything works out :)
Jordy is almost 18 months old (where has THAT time gone) and just continues to delight on a daily basis. He's such a clever little boy and his speech is coming along in leaps and bounds, he's continually surprising us.
I'm also now working at home, yay some money! It's not a lot, but that little bit extra really does help.
That's about it for now :)
It's no secret to my close friends that I don't like cooking, but recently I've had to go onto a restrictive diet for my son's reflux, so have no choice. All my recipes are free from Gluten, Soy, Lactose, Onion and low sugar, fat and salt.

My little boy is so clever
It continually surprises me just how much Jordan takes in on a daily basis.
This morning I went to get him out of bed and he'd thrown his toy elephant out of the cot as well as his pillow, but had kept his teddy in with him.
I said oh you're playing with your teddies, look your pillow has a teddies on it. He then pointed to each individual teddy bear on his pillow and said teddies!
wow!
We had such a busy weekend, but it was a great one, Fred didn't work at all again, woohoo!
On Saturday Jordy went to swimming lessons with Fred and i got a sleep in and breakfast in peace lol, then we went up to Kondalilla falls (near Montville) and had a picnic, it was really nice.
Then yesterday we went down to Brisbane for the Gluten Free Food Show (it was actually pretty disappointing, very small and nothing new there.....
We then went to Southbank for a bit of a walk around.
On the way home we realised the hairdresser would still be open so Jordy got his FIRST haircut! He was so good, he squirmed quite a bit but no crying. I think he was the first really little person the hairdresser had done though as her hands were shaking like mad lol.
After his haircut we decided to take him to visit his grandparents for a while.
We had a wonderful weekend, but we are all sooo tired, Jordy went to bed at 5.30 last night and didn't wake up until nearly 8 this morning lol.

Jordan's Birthday
Jordy turned one yesterday! Wow, just can't believe I no longer have a baby, but a little boy instead.
We had a wonderful day.
He woke up and had some mummy and daddy cuddles in bed before we went and got him some balloons to play with, he thought they were great!! We then took him out to see his present, a brand new trike!
After that it was a bit of party prep for us, but Jordy was quite happily playing.
After his nap it was party time, lots of his family and friends turned up to wish him happy birthday, he got to play with all of his friends and then came cake! (yum!) and presents!!
It was a huge day for our little boy and he was exhausted by the end of it.
Today we were off to Australia Zoo to look at all the animals. He absolutely loved it.
One of his new words at the moment is bird, so he looooved looking at all of the birds in the zoo. We also went to the baby animal petting zoo and he patted some goats, sheep and saw some pigs. We then wend and patted a wallaby. We also had a ride on the shuttle bus before we got to see some elephants, red pandas and the tigers! Next stop was to pat a koala, then we went to watch the tiger show and saw them playing around and jumping in the pool! It was so much fun.
Jordy was getting pretty tired by this stage, so we just went to see the wombats, and then went into the bird aviary, he saw some ducks and then learnt another new word and was quacking at us for the rest of the afternoon lol.
We had an absolutely wonderful weekend, and have some wonderful pictures and videos, have a look on my facebook for evidence :)

Jordan is almost one
The countdown is on until the first birthday.... Only 3 sleeps to go.
As we move closer to this milestone, it makes me contemplate the last year. It has been a year of such joy.... yes quite a bit of sleep deprivation, but I would take that any day over the sadness of not having a child.
He is just such a pleasure to have in our lives, he is a happy little fellow, loves to play, giggle and be the centre of attention. I just love him to bits :) Talking is going well, he babbles away all day long lol, I think he's going to be one of those children that never shuts up! He can say mum, dad, nan, bub, bird, hello, yeah, no and bye.
He is also making great gains in walking and is finally venturing off on his own without us having to coax him to walk lol. He is so proud of himself when he manages to get where he wants to go and giggles and laughs.
Birds are his favourite thing and he loves looking for them outside and whenever he hears them he will point and go bird, and will continue to point until I take him to look lol.
It is just so hard to comprehend that the last year has already passed, it's such a blur that I struggle even to remember how little he was.... I wouldn't change it for the world and he has made our lives so much fuller for being a part of it.

Jordy can walk!
Well take steps lol. He can manage about 6 or 7 in a row now :) I'm so proud of my little boy.
In 12 days time he turns one.... who would have thought the last year would go so fast. I look back at photo's of when he was a newborn, and it's hard to even believe that it's him, I think the haze of sleeplessness made it all pass in a blur.
I really really love spending time with him lately. He's so much fun, so inquisitive and just full of joy. I'm so lucky to be able to stay home with him and see all of this.

Busy Busy Busy
Gosh, I've just been busy lately..... feels like i've done nothing, but I'm always on the go.
The plaster work and painting was finally done on our house, it's been a major upheaval the last week or so with all of our furniture pulled away from the walls, plaster dust, mess..... just a pain in the butt.... They finally finished today! yay. Now I have no excuse not to clean the house lol.
Jordy also has croup..... again.... poor little mite..... We caught it a lot earlier this time so he hasn't gotten as bad thankfully.
I don't know what else has been going on, but I just feel frazzled all the time and like I never have enough time.......
I'm also so sick of my house not being organised. We moved in over a year ago and I STILL can't park in my garage..... I just want to be organised, but of course F will be working over easter so it won't get done AGAIN!
ugh ugh ugh! Can you pay someone to organise your life??

oops
I haven't updated in a while.
I have been busy working on a project.
I play hatchlings on facebook and have been developing a website to go along with this (and a forum) to help thousands of people out :)
http://thenursery.forummotion.com/forum.htm
I'm also still doing my swimming twice a week - go me!
Jordy has also been a delight the last week, he's been in a much better mood, so we've been having fun :)

I did it!
I went to the pool this morning, put Jordy in the child minding, and I swam....
lap after lap after lap.
I thought I was going to die after 200m but I kept going and just got into a rhythm.
It was great!
All that deep breathing, the solitude........ bliss
I feel so great.
I ended up swimming a whole kilometre :)
OK so I did cheat and use fins, but hey I haven't done laps in over 10 years and I'm so unfit!
Oh and Jordy was great :) he was happy baby in minding too :) only got upset once when another baby was crying lol.
And the little monkey did a big poo so they had to change his nappy lol......
So all in all a great morning, legs are feeling a tiny bit rubbery, but not too bad really :)
I will be going back next week :)
Yay, Thanks Court!

Swimming
Court from Court In The Middle has just started swimming training. She has inspired me!
When I was younger I always loved doing squad, would train 3 days a week and do club on Saturday mornings. I absolutely loved it.
Unfortunately life and work got in the way and I stopped doing it for a long time (probaby over a decade).
Now Court has inspired me, there is only one pool in the area that has child minding available (well 2, but the other one is for over 18 months, the receptionist just told me to put Jordy in the pram on the side of the pool!!).
So, I'm going to try to go twice a week. They only have the child minding from 9 - 10.15, so that gives me a definate window of time that I need to go :)
Will report back on Thursday how I go.......

Stuck on you Allergy Lables from Bumbles
This site is doing my head in when searching for that elusive nappy icon, so while I am searching madly for the solution to the 4th clue, I found these
Bumbles - Stuck on you Allergy Labels
They are really cute allergy labels with the childs name, emergency contact details etc. I can see myself using these in the future :)

Hunting Hunting Hunting
I've been spending my time the last few days hunting for nappy icons on the Great Down Under Nappy Hunt. http://www.diaperdecisions.com/pages/greatnappyhunt.php
I'm getting better at these over the years as I work out the sneaky tricks, but some of them I'm completely stumped on.
I've found some cool sites though, and might blog about them as I find them :)

Got some "me" time kinda
Today I had to go to the shops and get some things that we needed, while I was at the atm I thought I'd pop into the cinema's to see what was on... I didn't really think that I'd actually see anything, but saw that twilight was on....
I got to thinking....... it's been released for ages, it's a showing in the middle of the day, surely not many people would be there, I'm sure I could take Jordy in and even if he grizzled it wouldn't matter too much......
So I did it! First time I've seen a movie in probably the last year!
Great movie too :)
Jordy was a bit grizzly through the middle, but once he got to sleep it was all good :)
I feel so refreshed and relaxed. I think I need to do this more often.
They have the babes in arms sessions on Wednesdays, but that's when I have mothers group, but they don't seem interested in going, so maybe I'll just skip mothers group every now and then for a movie :)
yay!

Amy's Birthday
Well, today has been different to how Amy's birthdays normally are.
Normally I hide myself away from the world and mourn, but this year was different because Jordy is here.
Normally I am crying the whole day and I actually really need that day of sorrow to get my feelings out........ this year is completely different as Jordy did everything in his power to make me laugh today.
On one hand, I'm sort of glad hat he did that as he does bring such joy to my world, but on the other hand I feel like I haven't honoured Amy ont he only day that is really hers, as I was too busy dealing with her brother.
I did have a sad day last week where I did think of her all day and had a big cry, so maybe I just got it out early this year.
I have atached some photo's that I took while doing our balloon release. It's something we do each year to honour Amy, I like the thought of sending balloons for her to play with, it's als incredibly peaceful just watching them float upwards.
This year she had 3 balloons, one for each year, but also one from each of us. I give herthe purple one (amethyst is her birth stone, so I associate purple with Amy) and the boys give her a pink balloon each.
xoxo
Miss you baby girl.

A letter to my baby on her 3rd Birthday
Happy Birthday beautiful girl. It's hard to believe that it's been 3 years since we said hello and goodbye to you.
You would know how much has been happening here since your last birthday. We moved into our new house, and we have proudly hung your photo up. Your baby brother also turned up safely in May. I know you are looking over him and protecting him. He always looks at your photo, and sometimes I think it's as if he already knows who you are.
Your dad and I just miss you so much. I always wonder who you would look like, would you have my features or look more like your dad. Would you be happy, would you have slept. I think sometimes the what ifs are the things that make me saddest. You should be here with us, a happy healthy 3 year old, but instead you are in heaven looking over us.
Keep a look out for your balloons this afternoon, make sure you share them with all of your friends up there.
I love you and miss you
Mum

We have waving
Jordy now knows how to wave goodbye when you say goodbye to someone.
It's soooo cute. I will try to get it on video so you can all have a look.
Fred saw it for the first time today, and then he kept trying to get him to do it, but it's almost like Jordy said, oi, I said goodbye once, how many times are you going to make me do it before you go? lol

Oh Dear, Jordy found the toilet
I normally remember to shut the door to our ensuite, but today I forgot......
Jordy crawled away from me into our room, I thought yeah he'll be ok, I can leave him for a few minutes......
He got quiet, so I went to investigate.......
He was standing at the toilet putting his hands in it, ewwww......
I'm not used to him being so mobile........

Jordy just made me smile
I've been trying to get him down for a nap for about an hour and am listening to him talk over the monitor, and occasionally a yell of protest comes out.
So I peek my head around the corner into his room to find out what is going on and it just made my heart melt.
He's sitting in his cot up one end, and sitting on his wrap (he loves that thing) and trying to pull it up between his legs...... the only thing is, he's sitting on it, so it won't come up lol. That is where the yells of protest come in.
He really is a gorgeous little boy, and I love him to pieces. He makes me laugh all the time with his cuteness :)

My children on their birth days
Feeling a bit down
February for me is a very difficult month as that was the month that Amy was born.
It is a month full of terrible reminders and extreme sadness.
I think I'm feeling it more this year as Jordan is here now and I really understand what it is I (we) have missed out on.
It's so conflicting as on one hand Jordan gives me so much joy, and yet all I can think about is Amy.
I feel like Jordy is not getting the attention that he deserves due to me being in such an emotional place at the moment.
I wonder all the time what sort of personality Amy would have had, would she have resembled me or Fred, would she be cruisy and relaxed like Fred or trouble like me...
I just miss her so much :(
